Some tense moments for a family as they enjoyed the beautiful weather at Myrtle beach Saturday afternoon.

10 year old Allison Foreman was about waist deep in the water, boggie boarding with her step-father. That's when her mother says she heard her daughter scream and run from the water.

According to Mandy, the child's mother the shark bit the child's hand leaving teeth marks which drew blood.

Eyewitnesses who watched the commotion say they quickly exited the water until it was deemed safe to return.

Authorities say the child only suffered minor wounds and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
