Driver Cited in Connection with Deadly Accident

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) -- A man has died after being struck by a car in front of the post office on Assembly street.

Columbia Police say just after 7:00 Friday morning Alton Floyd was crossing the street when he was hit.

The driver was cited for driving too fast for conditions.

Investigators say the driver had the green light and the victim did not utilize the crosswalk.
