Police Release Sketch of Suspect in Deadly Hit and Run

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) -- Thursday, Sumter Police released a sketch of a woman who, they say, is the suspect in a recent deadly hit and run.

The suspected driver is described as a white female between 20-30 years old.

Police say on October 25, 2012 around 7:30 p.m., 70 year old Jeanette Harrison was struck by a dark colored, mid-sized car. Harrison, according to police, was trying to cross Calhoun Street toward the Day Surgery entrance to Tuomey Hospital.

Police are are also trying to identify the white male driver of a blue long bed crew cab pick-up truck that stopped at the scene immediately following the collision.

Police believe the man possibly witnessed the accident and may have valuable information in the case.
