SC Impact from Potential Budget Cuts
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) - You may be asking, how will potential budget cuts in Washington DC directly affect me?
The White House just released state-by-state reports. Here are a few examples concerning the impact here in South Carolina. We're looking at a more than $12 million loss in education funding. That could put about 170 teacher and aide jobs at risk. The cuts will also get rid of $278,000 in Justice Assistance grants. They support law enforcement, prosecution and crime prevention efforts. Lastly, almost 19,000 fewer people will get the help and skills they need to find employment. That's because job search assistance funding will take about a $550,000 hit. |

Boo hoo - jobs are available in Columbia - maybe not the hours nor salary one would like but depending on the government for hand-outs if plain sinful; maybe this is the reckoning or awakening needed. Schools are teacher/ administrative heavy anyway in my opinion. Nine months work for 12 months pay and oodles of in-service days and conferences galore - whoopee.
