COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) It's Brighter than ever, say Museum officials.
A big crowd gathered for the opening of the new $23 million dollar expansion at the South Carolina State Museum.

Among fanfare, music, and ribbon cutting, the doors opened Saturday for visitors to gaze upon the new planetarium, observatory and 4D Theatre.

ABC Columbia news was on hand to take a tour.
Inside the expansion visitors will find a new entrance which welcomes you to walk under the giant tripod legs of the Museum's new 1926 Alva Clark Telescope.

Vistors can also see the Sun and Moon in the New Boeing Observatory.
Kids and adults alike will enjoy the sights and sounds of the 4D theatre.
You can also star gaze and see a show in the new Planetarium.
