(WOLO) COLUMBIA,S.C., --

Authorities were first alerted to an incident along interstate 26 near exit 94 just after midnight. Captain Chris Cowen tells ABC Columbia News, a rock was catapulted onto the highway hitting a passing car below. 3 Passengers inside the car were transported to the hospital after the windshield shattered, spraying glass onto the face and upper body of the occupants.

9 more incidents followed, all at night and all along the Broad River Road corridor where authorities say cars have been severely damaged. Now, the question is no longer if damage is going to occur, but how much worse it could get.

Sheriff Leon Lott says "This suspect needs to be apprehended before he kills someone because of this ridiculous act."

Captain Cowen says they believe all 10 incidents are related and have taken reports of a male in his mid 20's or 30's seen in a white possible chevy or Ford pick up truck.

Police are offering a 1 thousand dollar reward to anyone who may have information leading to the arrest of the suspect or suspects who are facing attempted murder charges.
