COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)--The Richland County Sheriff's Department has arrested Brett Parker in connection with the double shootings in Ascot Estates.
Today Sheriff Leon Lott announced Brett Parker will be charged with two counts of murder in connection with the April shooting deaths of his wife, Tammy Parker, and his associate Bryan Capnerhurst.
Lott says gambling played a big part in the case.
It has taken the sheriff's department months to announce any findings in the case, today Lott said it was because they had two investigations going at the same time, one involving the shooting, the other gambling.
Parker is being held at the Alvin Glenn Detention Center. He is expected to have a bond hearing next week.
