A former Spartanburg High School teacher and coach has been accused of sexually touching a student.

Authorities have charged 29 year old Courtney Clark Kay with third-degree criminal sexual contact with a minor under the age of 16.

An investigation was launched by the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office after a parent complained that kay had inappropriate communications with her 14 year old child on Facebook.

Kay was the student's science teacher.

She was also a previous coach for the girls' junior varsity volleyball team.

Investigators say Kay touched the victim in a sexual manor while on the school campus.

The teacher has confessed to most of the allegations.

Kay was book into jail on Friday.

It is not yet clear if she has an attorney.
