GameDay: SEC East Driver's Seat At Stake

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) -- The last time Steve Spurrier coached at his alma mater he was carried off the field after clinching South Carolina's first-ever SEC East division title. Even if the #7 Gamecocks beat #2 Florida this afternoon at The Swamp, Spurrier's team will likely have to win home games against Tennessee and Arkansas to win its second division title in the last three years. But the Head Ball Coach is not denying today's winner will most likely represent play in the 2012 SEC championship game in Atlanta.

"We're looking forward to seeing if we can beat these guys," Spurrier said at his weekly press conference Tuesday. "We know the importance of it...We're trying to win the Eastern Division. If we go on a 3-game winning streak we're going to win it."
