USC's Staley Kicks Off Shoe Drive

By Sara Jane Harris

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) -- USC women's basketball coach Dawn Staley kicked off a shoe drive Monday for her non-profit organization, "InnerSole."

The charity aims to put shoes on homeless children and children in need in the Midlands.

Staley has already received several pairs of new tennis shoes but is not yet close to her goal of 2,000 pairs of new sneakers.

"We're going to get it done. We are going to make sure that every homeless child or a child that's in need gets a new pair of sneakers to go to school in," said Staley.

The shoe drive runs through Thursday.

If you'd like to donate, you can drop off a pair of new tennis shoes at the USC practice facility on Blossom Street in Columbia between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.
