COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) - A Midlands family finally has some closure more than a month after their loved one was murdered in Downtown Columbia.

Police arrested 17-year-old Austin Jamal Murray in connection to a homicide investigation that occurred on North Main Street back on September 16th. He faces murder and carjacking charges.

Investigators believe Murray was involved in the shooting death of 48-year-old Michael Davis.

The victim was pronounced dead at a local hospital after he was found lying in the roadway.

Investigators are also continuing to search for a 1996 white, four-door Mazda Protege that was seen on surveillance video at the time of the incident.
