COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) -- The stepson of a murder victim pleads with the Honorable DeAndrea Gist Benjamin to deny bond for the accused killer. The judge concurred, citing the allegations of two counts of murder and a potential threat of harm, reasons to send Brett Parker back to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

Parker is accused of killing his wife Tammy and family friend/business associate, Brian Capnerhurst, in the Ascot Estates subdivision in Richland County back in April. Prosecutors allege Brett Parker tried to frame Brian Capnerhurst and make it look like he was rescuing his wife from an attack from Capnerhurst. Evidence points to both the wife and business associate being shot multiple times with two different weapons. The defense claims Parker is the real victim in the case. The courtroom was crowded with friends, family and supporters on both sides. The judge gave the defense team six months to prepare for a re-hearing.

Defense lawyers say they plan to regroup and seek a reasonable bond for their client within the allotted time.
