(WOLO) COLUMBIA,S.C., --- The US Environmental Protection Agency reportedly found unsafe levels of what they're calling toxic metals. The unsafe lead has been discovered in the yards of dozens of Columbia residences that once house a fertilizer plant.

Soil sampling work has been completed in the Edisto Court neighborhood. Now officials are trying to determine if the best course of action is cleaning up the contamination which could take several months.

Officials are still waiting on the results of blood and urine samples taken from residents in the community.
