SC moms sending Father's Day gifts to congressmen

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — A group of South Carolina mothers is sending Father's Day gifts to the state's congressman, urging them to support gun control legislation.

Over the past week, members of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America have been making neckties from yarn and paper that read "I have Gun Sense."

Organizers say they'll also send a card either thanking the congressman for his votes on gun control legislation or asking him to consider the group's position.

Last month, group members held a rally at the Statehouse to honor people killed by gun violence. They also released a Mother's Bill of Rights, which lays out rights that the moms want to protect their kids from guns.
