MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (AP) - Former Gov. Mark Sanford and Elizabeth Colbert Busch Busch are campaigning into the final hours before election day in the state's 1st Congressional District.

Sanford is stumping with some Republican heavyweights. He talked to patrons at a diner in Mount Pleasant on Monday with former Gov. Jim Edwards at his side. Later he campaigns with the state GOP chairman.

Colbert Busch met with 50 supporters at a barber shop in Ladson, driving up in her blue and white campaign bus that has been crisscrossing the district in recent days.

Both candidates say they are optimistic about Tuesday.

The sister of comedian Stephen Colbert says she would change nothing about her campaign. Sanford says he feels the momentum has been moving his way since last week's debate.
