COLUMBIA, S.C. (CNN) - Flu season is already here, and according to what the experts at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have seen so far, this could be a bad year.

The prominent strain so far is H3N2 ... a strain the CDC says is usually associated with a severe flu season.

The CDC's director says that this year's flu shot is an excellent match with the influenza that's going around.
