Some parts of Midlands see snow, sleet
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) -- Some kids (and kids at heart) were able to enjoy seeing some snow fall in the Midlands Saturday.
A cold air mass along with some moisture being thrown into the area has allowed residents in the northern portions of the Midlands to see some snow on Saturday. Some areas into Newberry and Lexington were also able to see a wintry mix during the day. No accumulation has taken place except for some light dusting in places. Residents south of Columbia only ended up seeing a cold rain.
During the evening hours, expect the winds to pick up, allow cold air to push into the Carolinas. Lows will be falling into the 20s by Sunday morning. A Winter Weather Advisory has now been updated to include only Kershaw, Sumter, Lee, and Clarendon counties until 11 p.m. The rest of the Midlands is no longer under the advisory.
