N Charleston Breaks Ground on New Community Center
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) _ A South Carolina city is breaking ground on a new community center.
North Charleston officials on Tuesday are celebrating the start of construction on a facility to replace the current Miner Crosby Community Center.
The city plans to use the center for afterschool programs during the school year and summer camps during the summer. It will also be available year-round for civic meetings and special events, as well as private rentals.
The new, 3,100-square-foot facility is expected to be completed by April 2014.
