FORT JACKSON, S.C. (WOLO) - Fort Jackson is glowing as South Carolina's military personnel get into the holiday spirit.

They held the annual Tree and Menorah Lighting Ceremony Wednesday night in front of the Post Headquarters.

The 282nd Army Band had people singing along to Christmas carols, and Fort Jackson's Family of the Year helped flip the switch because of their answer for why this time of year is special.

The night wouldn't have been complete without a glimpse of Santa. He showed up in a fire truck.
