RIDGEWAY, S.C. (WOLO) - After searching for most of Friday evening in Ridgeway, the Fairfield County Sheriff's Office says it has recovered a missing elderly woman's car and found her body inside it.

An autopsy will be performed to help figure out exactly what happened to 77-year-old Inge Conrad.

Crews were focusing on Lake Wateree, which was by her home off Rolling Hills Road.

Chief Deputy Keith Lewis believes Conrad may have accidentally driven off her driveway and into the water.

He says there was evidence of tire impressions along with pieces of a car.

Conrad was reported missing by her son Thursday after not returning from a trip to Lugoff.
