No bond for SC man charged in parents' deaths

WINNSBORO, S.C. (AP) — Bond has been denied for a man charged with murder after his parents were found shot to death at their Fairfield County home.

That decision was made Wednesday in the case of Matthew Mahorsky. The 40-year-old is facing two counts of murder in the deaths of his parents, 71-year-old Richard and 70-year-old Ruth Marion Mahorsky.

A deputy found the couple's bodies Monday after the two did not show up for work. Chief Deputy Keith Lewis says the couple died from gunshot wounds to the head from a high-powered rifle.

Matthew Mahorsky was found inside the home. Lewis says deputies went to the home in 2004 for a disturbance call after the son pointed a gun at his father.

Matthew Mahorsky is expected in court again in May.
