BC High School Unveils New Stadium
(WOLO) COLUMBIA,S.C., --
" it's really a state of the art place."
Those are the words of the Brookland- Cayce head football coach after the school unveiled it's new state of the art facility over the weekend to a crowd of cheering sports enthusiasts.
The project that's been 3 years in the making is now a reality.
Principal Greg Mortons says
" it's been a long time coming. it's been excited during the last year as we watched this become a reality and today is a culmination of all of those efforts."
The Burkett Stadium is not only bigger but officials tell us it's safer too.
a track now further from a updated turf grid iron and seating allowing fans to feel like their part of every play without being on the field.
But that's not all - the 5 thousand seat stadium that will be used for football - track - soccer and bands has also gone high tech.
with bigger facilities - better access and a jumbo tron to see it all up close and personal.
While excitement is tackling many of the students and staff - head football coach Charpia wants to make sure players heads are in the game and not just on the new field.
03:31:35 " we have to win football games and we have to do the things it takes to win those games I have kind of dampened the excitment a little because i know there's still work to be done."
