DMV Offers Some Suspended Drivers Fixes, Time Cuts

BLYTHEWOOD, S.C. (AP) _ South Carolina's Department of Motor Vehicles is offering some drivers whose licenses have been suspended a chance to get their driving privileges restored.

From March 10-14, the agency is allowing drivers who qualify a chance to reduce or clear suspensions. Drivers must meet all requirements.

The program is offered at all DMV offices in the state but is not available to everyone. Drivers whose licenses were suspended for alcohol- or drug-related offenses are not eligible.

Department spokeswoman Beth Parks says drivers who were suspended for operating an unlicensed or uninsured vehicle may qualify for the program.

Fees must be paid and certain insurance forms may be required. Drivers with a clear record may apply for a new license. Some may have to take tests to get back on the road.

Why suspend a license DMV...you forgive driving an unlicensed/uninsured vehicle...ABSURD.....no wonder SC drivers are the 2nd worst in the nation....THEY ARE NOT REQUIRED TO FOLLOW THE LAW....speeding, hopping from lane to lane, riding the rear bumper of the vehicle in front of you, blowing your horn to get a driver's attention to let you change lanes at the last minute, BOOOM BOOOM RAP noise loud enough to cause pain to those around you.......these are just a FEW of the things I observe/hear EVERY TIME I get behind the steering wheel OR am a passenger in a vehicle.....OH,OH,,,,,,another daily infraction U-TURNS on a six lane road and no policeman or hwy patrolman to give a ticket....if one is present he/she can not be bothered as they SPEED right along, changing lanes, riding bumpers, blowinng through YELLOW lights.....AGAIN, SC is #2 in the nation FOR CARELESS, NON-LAW ABIDING drivers......BAM, BAM, BAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
