Greenville entertainment arena to get name change
GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Greenville's 15,000-seat entertainment and sports arena will get a name change.
The Greenville News reports (http://grnol.co/YA7dUF) that the BI-LO grocery chain has given notice it doesn't plan to continue to sponsor the name of the downtown complex.
Greenville Arena District Board chairman Jeff Gilstrap says BI-LO notified arena officials the company won't extend the naming-rights contract when it expires this year. BI-LO officials couldn't be reached for comment.
BI-LO completed a financial restructuring and emerged from bankruptcy protection In 2010. Greenville-based BI-LO said the following year it's buying Jacksonville, Fla.-based grocery rival Winn-Dixie for $560 million.
