GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) _ Authorities say a 22-year-old man is dead and two of his passengers injured after the SUV he was driving plunged off a bridge as he sped away from a state trooper near Easley.

Investigators say a trooper was using radar to check for speeders along state Highway 124 around 12:10 a.m. Friday when a Lexus SUV sped by.

The trooper turned on his lights to stop the driver, but the SUV went off the bridge and landed on the train tracks below about a minute later.

Authorities say Josiah Terry was not wearing a seatbelt. The conditions of his passengers are not known.

Greenville County deputies are investigating the crash.
