Columbia, S.C. (WOLO) -- The daughter of the woman killed last week in the Blossom Street bridge crash says all she wants is to give her mother a proper burial, but says she needs help from the community to help make that happen. Nataisha Mickens sat down exclusively with ABC Columbia's Monique Williams.

Natiasha giggles looking at pictures of her mother, Shannon. In the next breath, she fights back tears.

"My mom was a really good person, and I really miss her a lot., a lot."

Intensifying her grief, many unanswered questions about what led to her mother's sudden death. The SUV Shannon Mickens was a passenger in, crashed into the guard rail on the Blossom Street bridge January 16, and plunged into the Congaree river.

Shannon Mickens was extracted from the vehicle and transported to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

"How did this happen? Why did this happen" asks Natiasha asks.

Investigators are also trying to figure that out. A spokesperson for the Columbia Police Department tells ABC Columbia News officers are "making progress" but would not elaborate.

Now, the victim's family members are asking the community to help give Shannon Mickens a proper burial. Natiasha says her mother had no life insurance coverage. The funeral will take place Saturday, January 25, at 1:00pm at Bostick Tompkins Funeral Home, 2930 Colonial Drive in Columbia. You can contact staff directly at 803-254-2000 to donate, and Natiasha says, help her family heal.

"It would mean so much to me and my family. Thank you so much."
