Foreclosure Prevention Event to Help Struggling Homeowners

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) - Distressed homeowners, the South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs wants to try and re-build your confidence.

It's holding a Foreclosure Prevention event Friday afternoon from 1pm to 8pm at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.

Local residents can sit down one-on-one with banks and discuss their options.

No pre-registration is required.

These are the forms you need to had on hand:

 Request for Mortgage Assistance Form (Find at MakingHomeAffordable.gov);
 IRS Form 4506T-EZ (Find at MakingHomeAffordable.gov);
 Monthly mortgage statement;
 Information about any other mortgages;
 Two most recent pay stubs;
 If self-employed, the most recent quarterly or year-to-date Profit and Loss Statement;
 Documentation of income from all sources;
 Two most recent bank statements;
 Unemployment insurance letter, if applicable.
