Suspects in Bakery Shooting Still Sought

Neighbors taking precautions

By Monique Williams

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) - Columbia Police want your help in identifying three suspects who shot and killed a Midlands mother of five while she was at work.

They hope surveillance video will prompt tips from the public.

The coroner has identified the victim as 33-year-old Kelly Hunnewell of Columbia.

She was working at a satellite kitchen on Tommy Circle, near Beltline Boulevard, that supplies bagels and baked goods to different stores. Then around 3:30 Monday morning, surveillance video captured three men entering the building.

Officers say they believe the suspects were trying to rob the place, but Hunnewell allegedly went after them. That's when a neighbor reported hearing gunfire.

The coroner says Hunnewell suffered a gunshot wound to the upper body.

If you recognize any of the men in these surveillance images, you're asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
