1 Killed, 3 Injured in Calhoun County Crash

CALHOUN COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) - An accident on July 4th in Calhoun County takes the life of a driver and sends the other three passengers to the hospital.

It happened around 11:40pm on US 176, six miles west of St. Matthews.

Troopers say the 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier went off the left side of the road before striking a ditch and tree.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The other three occupants in the car were flown to Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol's MAIT team continues to investigate.

speeding and/or drinking involved....time will tell. sad to give up one's life over such reckless behavior.
