Midlands men put on high heels for a good cause

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Men across the Midlands will be walking in high heels for a good cause.

Sexual Trauma Services of the Midlands is holding its annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes benefit in downtown Columbia on Thursday.

The benefit invites men to put on high-heeled shoes and walk for a mile. People who have promised to walk include South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson, Columbia Mayor Steve Benjamin, Sumter County Sheriff Anthony Dennis, Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott, and Lexington County Sheriff James Metts.

The money raised helps Sexual Trauma Services of the Midlands, which provides services for people who suffer sexual assault and abuse.
