Sumter, SC (WOLO)-Sumter County authorities have apprehended a man, they say, tried to rob a bank this afternoon.
Franklin R. Johnson of Sumter was allegedly caught on surveillance video inside the "First Citizen's Bank" at the intersection of Washington and Calhoun streets in Sumter.
Just before four o'clock, authorities say, the man walked into the bank and gave a teller a note demanding money.
While no one reported actually seeing a weapon, we're told he acted in a way that made bank employees think he may have been armed.
the suspect fled without any money.
