If you don't think homelessness affects you, you may want to think again. City officials say their looking forward and trying to create a broader plan to deal with the issue.

City Council Members held a 3 hour meeting leaving standing room only, to discuss how to tackle one of the biggest concerns, feeding those in need.

After a decision to discontinue their partnership with the Salvation Army and Ebenezer Church, several city organizations are working together to come up with a pilot program that could help cut down on aggressive panhandling and vagrancy through a pilot feeding program.

" we have to start working on a larger, grander plan, a vision as to where we are going to go...we have to get everyone going in the same direction. Not just to deal with the appearance of homelessness, but to actually effect change in some peoples lives."

Mayor Benjamin says they do not have a definite decision as to what location will be used, be says they plan to continue their discussion next Tuesday April 16th, at 2pm during their informal session.
