Copper Theft Arrest
(WOLO) Columbia, SC-A tip from Crimestoppers has led to the capture of an alleged copper thief.
Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott says 30 year old Marko Adam Gilmore has been charged with three counts of metals/unlawful transportation/possession of non ferrous metals in a vehicle, and three counts of receiving stolen goods. The Richland County Sheriff’s Department Fugitive Task Force arrested Gilmore today on Andrews Road without incident. Gilmore is thought to be responsible for a series of thefts relating to copper:
Saturday, March 16th, at 1601 Key Road (Advance Door Systems), Gilmore allegedly stole copper wiring from the air conditioning units valued at an estimated $4,000.00.
Wednesday, March 13, at 1104 Shop Road (McWaters Incorporated), Sheriff Lott says Gilmore stole copper wiring from the air conditioning units valued at an estimated $2,200.00.
Monday, March 11, at 1168 Andrews Road (Second Union Baptist Church), Gilmore allegedly entered the property through a fence and stole copper wiring from the air conditioning unit. Estimated damage to that unit is valued at $10,000.00.
