(WOLO) KERSAHW COUNTY, S.C., --

Authorities say just after 3 Sunday morning, 41 year old Boyd Outlaw was killed while trying to flee police.

South Carolina Highway Patrol officers say the chase led officials through Kershaw County as they attempted to stop Outlaw, who authorities say was driving his motorcycle in excess of 100 miles per hour.

According to Officers, Outlaw lost control of his bike during the pursuit, crashed into a concrete divider along U-S 1 near The Springdale Road Shopping Center before flipping several times.

Officials say Outlaw was not wearing a helmet and are still unsure why he fled authorities.
