RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) - Richland County deputies say they're looking for a man who tried to abduct a child off a school bus Wednesday afternoon.

Investigators say the suspect rolled down his window near the intersection of Broad River Road and Hufstetler Drive and asked the 14-year-old girl if she needed a ride.

When the alleged victim refused and began running away, they add the man began chasing her.

The girl reportedly was able to get home safely and call her family.

The suspect is described as being heavy set, bald and between the ages of 50 and 55. He's believed to have been driving a burgundy two-door pickup truck.

If you have any information concerning this incident, you're asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
