RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) - There are new details concerning an alleged sports betting ring in Richland County.

Deputies say the 17 suspects arrested in connection to the Brett Parker case were given the option to attend a gamblers anonymous program in lieu of the charges, but apparently only one person took them up on the offer.

The others pled guilty in court and were ordered to pay fines.

An investigation uncovered the ring after Parker was charged with the murders of his wife and business associate.
