Parker's 14-year-old Daughter Testifies

Emotional testimony from teen

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) -- Late Thursday afternoon, one of the youngest victims in the Brett Parker double murder trial takes the stand, his 14-year-old daughter.

The State questions the teenager about conversations with her father, who is on trial, accused of killing her mother, Tammy Jo and his gambling business associate, Bryan Capnerhurst.

She has already burst into tears within minutes on the stand.

"I haven't discussed anything with him (Brett Parker)I was gonna say today," she told prosecutors.

ABC Columbia News chose not to show the teenager's face because she is a minor. She claims, though, she witnessed a conversation between her father and Bryan Capnerhurst about a gun involved in the case.

"I was in the room hearing him talk to Bryan. I'm not lying about that."

The defense countered by establishing that the teen had never spoken to defense lawyers prior to her testimony.

"I'm not doing this to help him."

Another witness, who testified previously for the State, took the stand today for the Defense. Laney Gunter, a former business associate of Brett Parker's, is already serving time for illegal gambling. Defense attorneys pointed out that he signed a plea agreement in exchange for his testimony.

Brett Parker himself could be called to testify Friday.
