SC State University's Million Dollar Pledge

By Eric Weisfeld

Orangeburg, SC (WOLO)-It looks like South Carolina State University is putting it's money where its mouth is.
The university's foundation has pledged 1 million dollars to the institution to maximize recruitment and retention efforts for the upcoming academic year.
The pledge is one of the foundation's largest in recent years. University officials say they have experienced a serious drop in enrollment mainly due to funding cuts, in sources like federal Pell Grants and Parent Plus Loans.
