Investigation Helps School Safety
(WOLO) CHESTER,S.C., --
An investigation in January opened the eyes of school officials who wanted to make sure their schools were as safe as possible following the Connecticut Elementary school shooting.
Plain clothed officers reportedly entered 12 of the 13 schools in the Chester school district, peered into classrooms, and even bought lunch in the cafeteria without being questioned or reported to school officials.
The superintendent for Chester schools says the exercise has helped them improve security measures.
Administrators and teachers at all of the school have been re-trained and additional security cameras have been installed.
