More than 59 thousands names etched in white ink, on a black wall was a chilling image for hundreds of people who came to pay their respects to America's fallen heroes at Swan Lake Park.

Everyone from strangers to relatives, spent hours searching for the names of those they lost during the Vietnam War.

The wall has been standing in the park for the past 4 days and has had visitors old and young who say they vow to never forget the men and women who laid down their lives in the name of freedom.

Lloyd Akers, An Army Veteran who served for 22 years says the wall means something different to everyone. For him, it was a sign that people remember.

While he says Vietnam Veterans may not have been greeted with the most welcome reception when returning home from war, the day of rememberance now validates what they were fighting for.
