PELZER, S.C. (AP) _ Greenville County sheriff's deputies say a woman has been found shot to death at her home in Pelzer and her husband has been charged with murder.

Sgt. Jennings Autrey says deputies were called to a home shortly before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Autrey said a woman was found dead in the home from at least one gunshot wound.

The coroner's office identified the woman as 51-year-old Kimberly Sledge. She was shot in the head.

Investigators say her husband, 51-year-old John Sledge, was arrested after being pulled over shortly after the shooting. He remains in jail. It was not known if he had a lawyer.

Authorities did not release a motive for the shooting.
