NEWBERRY COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) -- Newberry County deputies have concluded their search at Mid Carolina High School for a possible weapon after an early morning anonymous tip was reported.

The Sheriff's Office reports that the tip, which they considered non-credible, came in a little after 9:30 a.m.

Officials say the deputies were on campus throughout the morning and were using dogs to sniff for possible weapons. Investigators report that there was no credible threat to the school or the students, and this was a precautionary measure.

Mid Carolina Middle School, which is close to the high school in proximity, was also placed on security mode as well.
