Flu Halts Weekend Visitation

By Rochelle Dean

An influenza outbreak at the Kirkland Correctional and Goodman Facility has forced officials there to halt all weekend visitation.

According to prison officials, nearly 20 people have become ill with the easily spread virus. Inmates have been quarantined to their cells and the prison has been placed on lock down until they have a chance to re-evaluate the situation.

Officials are hoping to get a better idea of how bad the illness is and how much it has spread Monday.
