Husband Arrested for Murder

The identity of a woman found in broad river yesterday has lead to the arrest of her husband.

Authorities say Cindy Koon had been beaten,stabbed and cut before being tossed in the river.

Police were able to identify her through finger prints.

According to Newberry county coroner Craig Newton the autopsy revealed that the fatal wound came from a cut to the jugular vein.

Koon's huband reported her missing to the Newberry county police department shortly after 6pm Friday night.

Police arrested Allen Koon after getting a search warrant for his home and finding evidence including forensic evidence.

Investigators say the couple had a long history of domestic violence dating back to 2007 but no convictions.

it is beleived that koon acted alone in the murder and and moving of his wife's body.
