ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) - A construction project that closed two lanes in Rock Hill on one of South Carolina's busiest highways is finishing early.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation said workers opened the two right lanes on Interstate 77 northbound just south of the Catawba River late Wednesday night.

Crews were repairing a bridge in the area. The highway is usually four lanes in the area, and there were delays in traffic trying to get to Charlotte, N.C.

The DOT originally said the lanes would be closed until July 8.
