COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) -- There was a fire Saturday afternoon at the Eagle Recovery Facility in Lexington County.

The Lexington County Fire Service was called to the business on Bonhomme Richard Drive at 4:19 p.m. because of a mulch fire. Responders say piled natural debris, such as trees and stumps, were burning and required firefighters to bring twelve pieces of equipment and twenty-one firefighters to the scene.

Officials warn that smoky conditions in the area, including Longs Pond, Barr, and Rawl roads, may persist through the Sunday morning hours. The Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) says the smoke contains no toxic material.
