(WOLO) RICHLAND COUNTY,S.C., --

AZfter a 20 minute closed executive session members of the Election Board voted unanimously to unseat former Election Commission director, Howard Jackson effective immediately. Before naming his interim replacement, Samuel Selph in a vote of 3 to 1.

All this just 24 hours after Howard Jackson made claims against the board, alleging he was fired for not turning a blind eye to inner office discrepancies.

Jackson says regardless, today was going to be his last day on the job.
" I did not want to be the story so I decided to come in and get my things and clear out."

But not before relaying his reservations about what he says is the boards inability to move forward with the current leadership, citing obstruction from the organization.

Interim Replacement, Samuel Selph says he is still surprised by the claims made by Jackson against the board saying, " it shouldn't matter who sits in that office as the director. We should be able to have a smooth, fair and efficient election, if we follow the processes in place."

When asked if he thought Jackson did not follow that process he would only say " something went wrong, obviously."
