Columbia to host conference for small businesses

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Small business owners in Columbia are getting a chance to get some advice and assistance this week.

The City of Columbia's Office of Business Opportunities is hosting a Small Business Week Conference on Wednesday at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.

The meeting is taking place in conjunction with National Small Business Week, which is being recognized by the U.S. Small Business Administration.

At the Columbia meeting, organizers say small businesses from the area are being recognized for their successes. Business owners can also learn new tools for success, get information on lending and technology, and network with other attendees.
