Dianne's on Devine Closes After More Than 20 Years.
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) -- After more than 20 years in business Dianne's on Devine Street has closed.
"It's time for her next chapter," says John Brunty, Consultant for Dianne's on Divine and DiPrato's Delicatessen.
Monday night was the last night the restaurant was open for business, it was also when employees learned the restaurant would not open the next day.
Brunty says Dianne's on Devine Owner, Dianne Light, delivered the news to employees herself.
"Dianne said, 'Thank you for all you've done.' And many of them said, 'Thank you," says Brunty.
For those wondering, we're told, business wasn't the reason for closing up shop.
"Business was good, but it was time to go," says Brunty
Light tells ABC Columbia they are closing up shop to focus on DiPrato’s Delicatessen and DiPrato’s Pimento Cheese.
"I think the biggest thing that will be on the agenda for DiPrato's is the pimento cheese and getting that out into different grocery stores," says Brunty.
ABC Columbia News has also learned some of the Dianne's employees will now move to work at DiPrato's.
