COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) -- "This young man, holding a cutting board, he approached the young lady and engaged her in a short conversation. Then he exposed his genitalia to her by moving the cutting board to the side," says Stephen Narewski, Investigator with the SVU of the Columbia Police Department.

That incident reported inside the TJ Maxx on Harbison Boulevard is one of many across the Midlands, say police.

"They like seeing the shocked look on other people's faces," says Narewski.

Just down the road from the TJ Maxx, police say less than a week earlier a woman reported she was loading groceries at a shopping center when a man exposed himself.

Police do not know if the cases are connected.

Across town, police say a different suspect approached a 10 year old girl on Main Street while fondling himself.

Police say the girl's father chased the man, but lost track him.

So far, none of the victims have been harmed. While investigations are ongoing, police say many times the description of the suspect, from the victim, is limited

ABC Columbia News went back six months and found other reported incidents at local tracks, school bus stops and other public areas.

So what can you do?

"If they could safely take a picture, because everybody carries a cell phone now-a-days, we would love to have a picture," says Narewski

However, so far police say they haven't received any pictures to help catch those responsible.

"No, that's why I'm asking," says Narewski

Several arrests have been made in the cases, but some remain unsolved.

If you have any information you are asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME SC.
